Staying Motivated To Achieve Objectives

Saturday, January 30, 2010

There are many factors and issues small business owners, like myself, have to contend with, such as finances, creating a stronger brand, and staying motivated. The only way I have been able to attain success is by relentlessly pursuing opportunities that have lead to residential and commercial type jobs. The main issue is staying motivated to achieve objectives, when job opportunities aren't plentiful. Also, realizing you have to adhere to your market plan, regardless if new jobs are coming in or not. Its easy to be full of life and energy when the new jobs are rolling in constantly! Staying upbeat and postive when business is slow can sometimes be very challenging. By constantly visualizing your goals for your business. You will begin focusing on how your business will be in the long run. At this point, you will overlook all difficulties and obstacles, and realize your hard work will pay off eventually, with new job opportunities.

Is your company being cost effective?

If you are like me, you are constantly trying to find ways to minimize your overhead. There are several things you can do to save money, with out lowering quality of service. The first thing you should do is to make a list of all your expenses, then decide if you can lower the amount thats being spent on some of the items.
There are items that are fixed cost such as loan payments, insuarance payments, rent or mortgage of your office space or home. These fixed cost are cost that remains the same month to month. Other items are varibale cost, for instance labor cost, equipment/ and supply cost, fuel (vehicle) expenses, depreciation of vehicles/ and equipment. Variable cost are cost that change month to month, they flucuate often. These are cost you can figure out how to trim excess spending, and then decide how you will lower these cost by being more productive and effecient!
